Privacy & terms.
Reading.
You do not need an account to read this publication. This publication does not install advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The hosting and database providers may process technical request logs to operate and secure the service.
Likes and comments.
You can like an essay or leave a comment without an account. This browser remembers your chosen display name and a random reader identifier. The identifier lets us remember your likes and count each browser once per essay. Display names are chosen by readers; they are not verified identities.
Comments appear publicly as soon as you post them, showing your chosen name, comment text, and posting date. The editor can hide or delete comments. We store a hashed reader identifier and use request information to limit spam. Clearing your browser storage forgets your local preferences; it does not remove comments or likes already stored by the publication. Contact the editor about a comment you want corrected or removed.
When a comment is deleted, a limited technical record remains to prevent an old request from restoring it. This record does not contain the comment text or display name.
Sharing opens your device’s sharing options or copies the essay link. There are no embedded social-network tracking widgets.
Invited submissions.
If you submit invited work, the editor receives the name, email, manuscript, biography, links, files, and notes you provide. These are stored privately for editorial review. A submission is never automatically published. Contact the editor to request correction or deletion of unpublished material.
Private editorial access.
The private admin area uses essential authentication cookies. Public readers do not need to sign in. Your private invitation link should not be forwarded.
Copyright and corrections.
Articles remain the work of their credited authors. Contact the editor before reproducing a piece in full. Quotation, criticism, and ordinary linking are part of a healthy public conversation. Corrections are welcome through the contact information on the About page.
